For CPAs and accounting firms

Business returns put through a simulated examination before you sign them.

Independent AI agents prepare the return from the books. A separate examiner agent, which never sees the preparer’s reasoning, challenges it in the manner of a tax examination. Deterministic code computes every figure. The loop repeats until no material findings remain; then you review, decide and sign.

What sets it apart

Built so every position on a return can be supported.

The review loop

We automate the iteration a careful reviewer would insist on, and make each round cheaper than the last.

  • The examiner sees the return and the books, never the preparer’s reasoning
  • Findings carry a severity, class, form reference, amount and authority
  • Each finding comes with two to four options; a person chooses
  • After the maximum rounds, it escalates to a human

Provenance

Each figure knows where it came from: bank evidence, a rule, a model or a person.

  • Actor and time on every value
  • Prompt hash and model version on every model value
  • Every figure drills to its transactions
  • Recorded so a return can be reproduced

Models judge, code computes

Models classify, explain and challenge. Tested code against the ledger does the arithmetic.

  • No model produces a total, a depreciation figure or a tax
  • Below the confidence threshold, a question instead of a guess
  • Suspense items never deducted on a guess
  • Elections surfaced to a person, never applied silently

How it works

The loop is the product.

  1. 01In the engine

    Pre-flight

Versioned, deterministic checks catch mechanical errors, such as Schedule L out of balance or M-1 not tying, before any model sees the return.

  2. 02In the engine

    Prepare

The preparer agent decides treatments and records a position, with authority, for every judgment call.

  3. 03In the engine

    Examine

The examiner agent sees only the return and the books, and raises structured findings.

  4. 04In development

    Resolve

Each finding comes with two to four options and their authority. You choose; your choice is recorded.

The loop stops when no material findings remain, or escalates to a human with a diagnosis when the problem is in the books, not the return.

A single-pass return isn’t a finished return.

Preparing a corporate return is iterative: prepare, review, fix, review again. Every round costs senior hours that firms no longer have.

Two ways to work

Guide the customer, or prepare it for them.

The mode is set per filing, not per customer. Moving from guided to managed is one click and carries all work forward. A US CPA signs every return: your CPA, or ours.

Guided

The customer prepares their own return, with a CPA or NGTAX.AI ops staff alongside to guide them.

  • The customer signs as taxpayer
  • Internal review is skipped
  • The same workpapers as managed
Drafted → Your review → Approved → Signed

Managed

Staff prepare the return for the customer, and a reviewer checks it before the customer sees it.

  • Internal review stays in the path
  • A preparer cannot approve work they prepared
  • The customer still sees and reviews the return
Drafted → Internal review → Your review → Approved → Signed
